Aerobarrier Field Technician

Position Description

The work of an Aerobarrier Field Technician is varied, challenging, and always interesting. At Green Insight, we make homes more efficient and comfortable through application of building science.

This is an entry-level position with Green Insight with plenty of potential to grow. The Aerobarrier Field Technician works under the supervision of an Aerobarrier Field Supervisor, assisting in all aspects of the Aerobarrier field application from preparing a home to completion of testing. The Aerobarrier Field Technician is also expected to pitch in on various administrative tasks (as we all do). The Aerobarrier Field Technician spends roughly 80% of their time in the field and 20% on office work, depending on project cycles and training needs.

Full Time, starting at $20/hr + up to 10% annual bonus, with increases as certifications are earned. No experience required; training provided. The duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work with Field Supervisor to prepare the job site for AeroBarrier services to be performed
  • Prep includes, but isn’t limited to, taping around operable windows, doors, air vents, light cut outs, etc.
  • Assist in unloading and loading equipment required for each job site
  • Complete daily Equipment Check and Vehicle Inspection forms
  • Participate in training/retraining programs as necessary
  • Comply with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including the use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent injury
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Write sales contracts.
  • Professionally represent Green Insight and provide exceptional service to all clients, vendors, and business partners

The Field Technician is also expected to pitch in on various administrative tasks (as we all do). The Field Technician spends roughly 75% of their time in the field and 25% in the office, depending on project cycles and training needs.

HERS Rater

Green Insight is a LEED for Homes Provider with offices in New Mexico and Colorado. We make homes more efficient and comfortable through rigorous application of building science.  We work on all types of homes including single-family detached, multifamily buildings, & townhomes, but our focus is larger, multi-unit properties.  Most of our work is new construction, but we also work on existing homes.  The work of a HERS Rater is varied and challenging.

The HERS Rater works under the direct supervision of a Project Manager, conducting building takeoffs, energy modeling, inspections, and performance tests (blower door, duct leakage testing, etc.) to produce a home energy rating. The HERS Rater assists the LEED for Homes Green Rater in inspection and documentation of some LEED checklist items.  The HERS Rater will also be expected to pitch in on various administrative tasks.  The HERS Rater spends roughly 50% of their time in the field and 50% in the office, depending on project cycles.
